Blackberry App World Launches

April 1, 2009 by Eric Friedman

Blackberry App World has launched and is now available for RIM devices.

appworld

I am in the process of testing out the Blackberry App World story now on my Curve 8320.

From the source:

BlackBerry App World is available for free! If you have a PayPal account, and if your BlackBerry® smartphone meets the system requirements, then you’re ready to download BlackBerry App World from your smartphone or from your desktop computer.
* BlackBerry App World is only available to customers in US, Canada and UK and may not be available on all networks

Interesting that you have to have a paypal account to use the service. To me this signifies not only transactions for purchasing apps from App World itself, but also hopefully in application transactions as well for upgrades, virtual goods, and perhaps subscriptions.

There is an extensive developer section, although I have heard it has been a confusing process.
