Penny Pranks – Office Max ad campaign

I am not sure why but I find this new ad campaign by Office Max to be pretty funny. They sent a guy around NYC to try to pay for things in pennies.

I think what is funnier is some of the NY reactions to this payment type. Low budget, but effective. Shows you that you can actually buy something for a penny! I wonder if they will produce these and run the videos somewhere other than youtube.

Ha! That is such a great ad campaign. I like “Dave” as much as their old advertising character, the “Rubberman” :)

While I thought this campaign was good, I really like the Rubberband guy better. I think the “rubberband” guy appealed to a younger audience as compared to this latest one with Dave. I suspect that they would have been better suited to stick with the rubberband guy more long term like Verizon has the “can you hear me now” guy.
