Hosted and developed using yourminis Rolling Stone is the latest publication to start allowing users to embed content on their website, blog, myspace page, or anywhere else they want band information to show up.

The upside of widgets for both parties are the added benefit of up to date information from a valid source and of course tracking information for the company distributing the widget.

I have been bullish on widgets for some time and I think that as companies get smarter about building and tracking them we will see more innovative applications. Right now we are seeing the beginning of what will one day be a more content connected web – something I plan on going into further detail on in a different post.
