It was announced recently that you can now message people from inside Facebook, who are not logged in or members of Facebook.
Now you can enter a friend’s email address into the To: line when you send a message or share an album, and Facebook will email them the message.

Why is this a big deal? Because as Facebook becomes the premiere destination for all your tasks and a successful portal with all the now VERY capable apps, there is less reason to leave the page. It has been stated that Facebook is now used by teens and college students as their premiere “inbox” and being able to email people outside Facebook is a huge bonus for them. I have even heard of some business users asking for the same feature – looks like Facebook is listening.
